Secure Forms

The difference between secure forms and unsecure forms is . . . well, SECURITY

New Bedford Web Design provides you with two levels of secure forms – Medium Security and High Security.

  • If you collect visitor information such as: name, address, e-mail, etc., then you need Medium Form Security.
  • If you collect sensitive information such as: credit card number, social security number, bank account number, etc., then you need High Form Security.

Medium form security (Webform Locker)

Supplying a form on your website opens up a world of interaction between you and your customers, prospects and vendors. Historically, receiving that information has been the difficult part.

Now with Webform Locker, you simply log in to your secure control panel and download the latest form submissions as a standard database .CSV file that can be opened in MS Excel. If you don’t want to download a spreadsheet and just want to view and print your submission, you can do that too. Either way, it couldn’t be easier.

To give you a “hands-on” view of Webform Locker’s medium security forms, we’ve set up a demo account with which you can interact. The User Forms are secure forms similar to those your visitors would fill out and submit. The Control Panel is where you, the form owner, would log in to retrieve the information.

We recommend that you first fill out a form THEN log in and see your submission.

Do NOT enter sensitive or confidential information on these forms, rather make up the data you enter.

High form security (Form Privacy)

If your form will collect sensitive information such as credit card numbers, driver’s license numbers, social security numbers, etc., then your need a high security solution.

Note to Massachusetts-based readers: If your website has an online store, job application form, etc., and you are collecting sensitive information, the law states you MUST encrypt your data. The Massachusetts Data Security Law, 201 CMR 17.00 was put into action on March 1, 2010, and failure to abide by it can result in serious financial penalties. However, with our high security form package, you will be compliant with the law.

How encryption works

Sensitive information is stored in an encrypted fashion (AES 256 encryption – military grade). Data encrypted with the AES 256 cypher has never been hacked – ever!

You cannot decrypt the data without the secret key, which only you will have.

You’ll receive a custom Windows application that resides on your computer. When you want to decrypt data, simply paste in the encrypted text.

The graphic above shows a screen shot of encrypted/scrambled data sent in an e-mail from a secure online form. Once received, you decrypt this data using our decryption program (only you have the private decryption key), and voila! – you have your data.
